Upgrading from Fujifilm S6500 to S9600 (S9100), advice please.?

If I were to upgrade my Fujifilm S6500fd to an S9600 (S9100 for the US market). I know I’ll be gaining on megapixels and an external flash socket and shutter release cable but I’m just wondering if its worth the change and do people think the camera is good? Thanks

I wouldn’t exactly call it upgrading. They were released nearly a month apart but from the looks of it the hot shoe, megapixel difference, a tiltable screen, and the CF card support are the only things that you’ll gain. Here’s a list of some things you’ll lose with the “upgrade”:

– Better pop-up flash
– Slightly larger sensor size (the smaller sensor on the 9100 + more pixels may increase noise)
– ISO 3200 (useless, but some may want it)
– Faster drive speed (2.2 frames vs. 1.5 frames per sec)
– Larger screen (2.5″ vs. 2.0″)
– 10MB internal storage

Though the 6500fd is slightly larger, you’ll gain 50g with the 9100. There are some additional gimmicks with the S9100 but I don’t think that’s enough to justify the purchase. In the US, you can get a lower-end DSLR for the price of the S9100.
